Learn MoreI am a clinical psychologist with 20 years clinical experience working in psychology. Within that time, I have had the opportunity to work at world renowned research centers in the UK at the Centre of Anxiety Disorders and Trauma (CADAT) and the Anxiety Disorders Unit (ADRU) the Maudsley Hospital. Before specializing in the treatment of anxiety and obsessional problems, I worked for several years in Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) which gives me the unique position of being able to work with young people and their families, as well as adults.
I originally trained in New Zealand at the Universities of Otago and Canterbury University where prior to becoming a clinical psychologist, I completed my Law Honours Degree (LLB Hons) and Professional Studies in Law (PROFS) and was admitted to the New Zealand Bar as a Lawyer. Whilst I am grateful for the opportunity to study law, I opted to pursue my passion to become a psychologist instead of practicing law.
I have a Bachelors of Art majoring in Psychology (BA), a Masters Degree with Honours in Psychology (MA Hons), and a Post Graduate Diploma in Clinical Psychology (PGDipClinPsych). In subsequent years in the UK, I became an accredited Cognitive Behavioral Therapist and completed my training in family therapy (Post Graduate Certificate in Systemic Therapy) which I use to complement my practise working with couples and families of those suffering with anxiety and obsessional problems.
